TEMPORARY POSITION FOR SUMMER ONLY

 

Position will start May.                 40 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:    

  1. Education: Minimum of High School diploma.
  2. Valid Nebraska Driver's License imperative.
  3. Knowledge of the safe use of hand tools and power/self-propelled mowing equipment.
  4. The ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
  5. Knowledge of grounds keeping procedures.
  6. Capable of performing preventive maintenance on equipment (i.e. changing oil, changing oil filters,fueling, sharpening blades,) cleaning and the general upkeep of the equipment assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)

  1. Mowing with push and self-propelled mowers.
  2. Trimming bushes and trees, weeding, picking up trash, painting or other outside duties assigned.
  3. Safe use of fertilizers, insecticides, sterilants, and other supplies as directed.
  4. General maintenance and upkeep of the equipment assigned.
  5. Planting grass seed, planting trees and bushes and the care required to get them started.
  6. Watering with various watering equipment, (sprinklers sprayers, walkers,) and moving irrigation pipe.
  7. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (Intellectual, Sensory):

-Proper use of mowers and weed eaters.

-Mixing of 2 cycle gasoline.

-Works well independently and with others.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Inside/Outside:   Outside
  2. Climatic Environment:  Heat, bugs, insects, too much sun.
  3. Hazards:  Fertilizers; Operation of Power Equipment; Weed Killers
